Unable to download McAfee

Delete User temporary files and folders:

1. Click Start->Run

2. Type %temp%

3. Click OK

4. Select all the files and press the Delete key.

NOTE: For Windows Vista, hold down the key that has Windows logo on it and then press the "R" key once. This will open the Run box.

Delete System temporary files and folders:

1. Click Start->Run

2. Type temp

3. Click OK

4. Select all the files and press the Delete key.

Delete application shortcuts:

1. Click Start->Run

2. Type prefetch

3. Click OK

4. Select all the files and press the Delete key.

Delete personal files/folders shortcuts:

1. Click Start->Run

2. Type recent

3. Click OK

4. Select all the files and press the Delete key.

Delete cookies, browsing history and temporary internet files:

If you are using Internet Explorer 6.0, please refer the following steps:

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Click on Tools tab

3. Click on Internet Options.

4. Click on " Delete Cookies" , " Delete Temporary Internet Files", and " Clear History"

5. Click Apply and then click OK.

If you are using Internet Explorer 7.0, please refer the following steps:

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Click on Tools.

3. Click on Internet Options.

4. Click on the General tab. Under Browsing History section, click on 'Delete'

5. On the next screen, click on 'Delete All'

6. Click Yes on the next screen.

7. Click OK to close the Internet Options properties Window.

Delete unnecessary files:

If you are using Windows XP, please refer the following steps:

1. Click Start- Run

2. Type cleanmgr

3. Click OK

4. Select C: drive and click OK.

5. Select all check boxes except " Setup Log Files "

6. Click OK.

7. On the next pop up box, click " Yes "

If you are using Windows Vista, please refer the following steps:

1. Click Start -> Search

2. Type cleanmgr

3. Press the Enter key.

4. Select "Files from all users on this computer"

5. Click on " Continue" button.

6. Select the C: drive

7. Put a check beside all options except " Setup Log Files "

8. Click Ok.

9. On the next pop up box, click " Delete Files "

Perform Windows update by refering these steps:

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Type the following in the address bar and press the Enter key:

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

This should start the automatic updates of Windows.

3. Restart the computer.

Check for server certificate revocation:

1. Open Internet Explorer, then pulldown tools and select "Internet Options".

2. Goto the Advanced tab and find the "Security" section.

3. Uncheck the box beside "Check for server certificate revocation".

4. Click Ok and close Internet Explorer.

Disable Content Advisor:

1. Open Internet Explorer, then pulldown tools and select "Internet Options".

2. Goto the Content tab and find the "Disable" button.

3. Click on "Disable" button.

4. Click on OK button.

Add McAfee website in Internet Explorer's Trusted Zone:

1. Open Internet Explorer -> Tools

2. Select Internet Options and click on Security tab.

3. Highlight Trusted Sites and click on 'Sites' button.

4. Enter the full website address of mcafee and click on OK.

Re-register Crypto.dll:

regsvr32 scrrun.dll

regsvr32 msxml.dll

regsvr32 mshtml.dll

regsvr32 shdocvw.dll

regsvr32 browseui.dll

regsvr32 msjava.dll

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

Procedure: Click Start -> Run

Type regsvr32 SampleDLLName.dll

Press Enter key

Run MVT:

1. Download the McAfee Virtual Technician from this weblink:

https://us.mcafee.com/root/mvtapp.exe

2. If you receive a "File download security warning", click Yes.

3. Click Open to launch McAfee Virtual Technician.

Note: On some browsers, you must click Run.

4. Restart your computer after the installation is complete

Run MCPR tool:

1. Download the removal tool from:

http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

2. Click Save and save the file to any folder on your computer. Navigate to the folder where the file is saved. Make sure all McAfee windows are closed. Double-click MCPR.EXE to run the removal tool.

Note: Windows Vista users must right-click MCPR.EXE and select Run as Administrator.

3. Restart your computer after receiving the message CleanUp Successful.

4. Your McAfee product will not be fully removed until the system is restarted.

NOTE: Do not restart the computer.

Reset TCP/IP:

1. Click Start, Run, type cmd, and press ENTER.

2. In the command prompt window, type:

netsh int ip reset reset.log

3. Press ENTER.

4. Close the command prompt window.

5. Restart the computer.

Clear/Renew IP address:

1. Click Start, Search, type cmd.exe, and press ENTER.

2. In the Search Results window, right-click cmd.exe and select Run As Administrator.

3. In the command prompt window, type:

ipconfig /flushdns

4. Press ENTER.

5. When the command prompt is returned, type:

ipconfig /renew

6. Press ENTER.

7. Close the command prompt window.

After performing these steps, restart the computer and refer the steps provided in the following weblink:
