Basic virus removal steps

To resolve this issue, please remove the following software/programs from your computer:

We need to remove these software/programs from the following locations on your computer:

C:/Program Files

C:/Program Files/Common Files

Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel

C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data

NOTE: We can open Application Data folder directly by performing the following steps:

1. Click Start --> Run

2. Type %appdata%

3. Press the Enter key

After this, delete temporary files and folders by performing these steps:

1. Click Start- Run

2. Type %temp%

3. Click OK

4. Select all the files except Citrix and Citrixlogs folder and press the Delete key.

After this, please perform the following steps:

1. Click Start- Run

2. Type temp

3. Click OK

4. Select all the files and press the Delete key.

After this, please perform the following steps:

1. Click Start- Run

2. Type prefetch

3. Click OK

4. Select all the files and press the Delete key.

After this, run the McAfee QuickClean and remove all the temporary files, cookies, ActiveX and invalid registry entries.

After this, check the Trusted List and Program Permission List in McAfee Security Center and remove any suspicious entries. After this, update McAfee Security Center and run the virus scan on the computer.

NOTE: You can check Trusted List and Program Permission List by performing these steps:

1. In McAfee Security Center, click on 'Computers and Files' and then click on 'Configure' on the right pane.

2. Click to expand 'Virus protection is enabled'

3. Click on "Trusted List" in the left pane and check the programs listed in the right pane.

4. If there are any suspicious programs listed, please remove them.

1. Open McAfee Security Center

2. Click on Internet and Network and then click on 'Configure' on the right pane.

3. Expand "Firewall Protection is enabled" and click on Advanced button.

4. Select Program Permissions in the left pane

Performing these steps should resolve the issue.
