Windows Security Center does not detect McAfee Virus Scan:

1. Hold down the key that has Windows logo and press the "R" key once. This will open the Run box.

2. Type regedit, click OK.

3. Navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Security Center\Monitoring\McAfeeAntiVirus].

4. Right-click the DisableMonitoring key in the right pane and select Delete to remove the key.

5. Close the Registry Editor window.

6. Restart the computer.

Check Trusted List:

1. In McAfee Security Center, click on 'Computers and Files' and then click on 'Configure' on the right pane.

2. Click to expand 'Virus protection is enabled'

3. Click on "Trusted List" in the left pane and check the programs listed in the right pane.

4. If there are any suspicious programs listed, please remove them.

5. After this, perform a scan of your computer using Virus Scan.

Sometimes we come across issues where customer is unable to install McAfee products because Setup detects third party security software ( Symantec, Norton )

Customer will confirm that he has removed all the other antivirus software from Add/Remove Programs and registry and Application Data/ Program Files folder. Still McAfee setup will be detecting the presence of the antivirus files.
